At George Washington Middle School 8th Grade Science class we will be exploring relevant content and career opportunities. Students will be learning study skills, cooperative strategies, and communication techniques that will prepare them for High School and beyond. Topics covered in 8th grade science will include a systems approach to the big ideas of science, including Matter and Energy, Force and Motion, Earth and Space, and Organisms and Environments. Students will be conducting controlled scientific investigations and field studies. Students will also apply their knowledge and skills to design solutions to meet real world challenges. We certainly welcome parent and community expertise in any of these areas! We want our kids to be engaged in science not only in their daily lives, from the food they eat, clothes they wear, technology they use and the sports they play, but to be aware of issues around the world that will impact us all now and in the future.
